Also known simply as bolt shackles, they feature a bolt that’s secured with a pin. You can use a bolt type anchor shackle to lift or pull heavy objects. There are different styles of bolt type anchor shackles, but they all feature a thick, heavy-duty bolt that’s able to accommodate heavy loads.

Overview of Bolt Type Anchor Shackles

They are known as “bolt type anchor shackles” because they feature a bolt. The photo above depicts a bolt type anchor shackle. As you can see, it features a bolt at the bottom. The bolt is secured to the rest of the anchor shackle via a cotter pin.

The Parts of a Bolt Type Anchor Shackle

Bolt type anchor shackles feature a few basic parts. Among the most important is the bolt. Bolt type anchor shackles are distinguished from other types of shackles by their use of a bolt.

In addition to a bolt, bolt type anchor shackles feature a cotter pin. The cotter pin is used to secure the bolt in place. At the base of the bolt is a precut hole Sliding a cotter pin through this hole will lock the cotter pin in place. If you want to remove the bolt, you can slide the cotter pin out of the hole.

Bolt type anchor shackles feature a body. The body is the main part of the bolt type anchor shackle. It consists of a U-shaped piece of metal

How to Use a Bolt Type Anchor Shackle

You can use a bolt type anchor shackle in rigging and lifting applications. Bolt type anchor shackles are convenient thanks to their pin-secured bolt. You don’t have to use any special tools. Just remove the bolt from the anchor body, after which you can connect the bolt type anchor shackle to the load.

The anchor body can be attached to a load or an anchor point using a suitable connecting device, such as a hook or a sling. Once attached, you can close the anchor body by adding the bolt back.

In Conclusion

Bolt type anchor shackles offer a simple and easy solution for rigging and lifting applications. Consisting of a bolt, cotter pin and shackle body, they don’t require any special tools, and they can support heavy loads. Just remember to choose a bolt type anchor shackle in the right size.

Bolt type anchor shackles are commonly used in rigging and lifting applications.
