Not all workbenches are made equal. While they all offer a stable surface on which to work, their features and design characteristics may vary. To get the best bang for your buck, you should consider the following when choosing a workbench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#1) Material of Construction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You should consider the material of construction when choosing a workbench. Workbenches are commonly used in factories, manufacturing facilities, warehouses and other industrial environments. When made of a strong material like stainless steel or carbon steel, they can withstand regular use &#8212; all while providing a reliable surface on which to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#2) Fixed vs Adjustable Height<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All workbenches fall under one of two categories: fixed height or adjustable height. Fixed-height workbenches have a static height, meaning you can&#8217;t raise or lower them. Adjustable-height workbenches, on the other hand, have an adjustable height. They are considered more versatile than their fixed-height counterparts. If the surface is too low for your working needs, you can raise it to a more comfortable level or vice versa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#3) Finish<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget to consider the finish when choosing a workbench. Because they are typically used in the workplace, workbenches are often manufactured with a protective coating. Also known as a finish, it helps to protect the underlying material from corrosion and other forms of damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#4) Load Capacity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Something else to consider when choosing a workbench is the load capacity. This specification reflects the maximum weight a given workbench can safely support. Heavy-duty workbenches, such as those made of stainless steel, may have a load capacity of up to 2,000 pounds. As long as the total weight of all objects placed on them is under 2,000 pounds, they will continue to provide a stable working surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#5) Dimensions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Workbenches are available in different dimensions. Dimensions, of course, are represented by width, depth and height. Some workbenches are wider, deeper or taller than others. Keep in mind, however, that adjustable-height workbenches have a specified range for their height, such as \u00a028-42&#8243;. This means you can lower them to 28 inches or raise them up to 42 inches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#6) Legs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What types of legs does the workbench have? Legs play an important role in the function of workbenches. These vertical appendages stabilize workbenches while simultaneously connecting their working surface to the floor.
