Heat sinks pull heat away from these components to prevent them from overheating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Heat sinks are commonly used with the following electrical components:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Central Processing Units (CPUs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graphics Processing Units (GPUs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Random Access Memory (RAM)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Power transistors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chipsets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Common Features of Heat Sink Captive Screws<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat sink captive screws have several features that distinguish them from traditional screws, one of which is a captive mechanism. They are permanently retained within the heat sink.
