That&#8217;s one of the ways in which they differ from other types of presses. Nonetheless, rack and pinion presses live up to their namesake by featuring a rack and pinion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Rack and Pinion Presses Work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While there are different types of rack and pinion presses, most of them work in a similar way. They feature two gears. Rack and pinion presses have a circular-shaped gear and a linear or horizontal gear. The former gear is known as the pinion, whereas the latter gear is known as the pinion. The rack is placed on top of the pinion. When you pull the lever, the two gears will move together while subsequently applying pressure to the workpiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of Using a Rack and Pinion Press<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Why should you consider using a rack and pinion press exactly? For starters, they are easy to use. As previously mentioned, rack and pinion presses are manually operated. They don&#8217;t require an electrical or gas connection. You can mount a rack and pinion press to a bench, after which you can use to deform or hold workpieces. All you need to do is place the workpiece in the holding area of the rack and pinion press and pull the lever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rack and pinion presses also apply an equal amount of pressure. You don&#8217;t have to worry about certain parts of the workpiece receiving more pressure than others.
