Employee of the Month: Brandon Wolgast

Congratulations Brandon Wolgast on being Employee of the Month for January 2023

Nomination

Brandon joined the Monroe IT team in November of 2015. When he first started, his primary role was to be our first IT Support Specialist for the 2 Monroe locations that existed at that time. Flash forward 7 years and 35 locations later – he has played a critical role in helping build, scale, and support the ONE MONROE Information Technology backbone for the entire organization.

With his depth of ever growing IT knowledge, problem solving skills, phenomenal communication and project management abilities, Brandon consistently goes above and beyond in his role as Director of IT. He is a model person, team member, and leader that embodies every single one of the ONE MONROE core values.

One of my favorite things about Brandon is that if he does not know something he always takes the time and initiative to learn it…and then he teaches me ;).

To say that I am proud to have him on my team working shoulder to shoulder is an understatement and I look forward to seeing his future continue to unfold.

Thanks for you all you do Brandon! -Rob

How long have your worked for Monroe? Since Nov 2015, so a little over 7 years.

What do you like about working for Monroe? I enjoy the challenges that the job presents, which gives you constant opportunity to learn and grow my skills.

What is one thing you love about your job? I would have to say our Monroe IT team. We have a hard working team that takes pride in it’s work, communicates well, and we all get along and can have fun together. Everyone has a great sense of humor on the IT team as well.

If you could add one thing to your office, what would it be? My Dog.

Three words to best describe you. Creative. Dedicated. Witty.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? Pizza. At least you can change the toppings and keep things somewhat interesting.

We also went to Antigua, which had absolutely stunning beaches. Afterwards, we stayed in Florida for a few extra days and went to Busch Gardens Tampa as well.

Least favorite food? Sour cream. Or onions. Or both. Especially together.

Do you have a motto or personal mantra? It is what it is. It’s a fairly common saying, but I find it applies quite often to life and it’s empowering to be able to accept things for what they are and let go of things outside of your control.

What are your three most overused words/ phrases? 1. It is what it is. 2. That’s ridiculous/absurd. 3. Seriously?!

What is an ability you wish you had? I wish I could play piano.
