Congrats to Carrie Hardman on being Employee of the Month for June 2023!
Nominations
Carrie is our first employee to ever receive two separate employee of the month nominations in one month. Below we’ve included both nominations, as well as a short paragraph from Carrie’s manager and supervisor, Bryce Anderson and Brad DeCarlo.
Carrie was literally called a “Caster Ninja” by a customer, and they were absolutely correct!😀
I stopped at Winnebago Industries on 5/23/23 and had a great meeting with them. The one thing that stood out was: Carrie’s customer service. She get’s quotes back to them the same day they ask for them. Just for that reason, they do not shop around for casters.
Her product knowledge and customer knowledge is AMAZING!!! Carrie will stay until the job is done. She takes care of our customers like they are her kids. I can ask her what happened years ago with a customer and she knows and remembers everything. She truly is a OneMonroe asset and needs to be praised.

Carrie is known around here by many names; Encyclopedia Britanica, Caster Guru, Gatekeeper, etc. Her 25+ years of caster and material handling knowledge makes her an invaluable resource and valued member of our Des Moines team. Carrie uses that knowledge to educate our customers so they can walk out the door with the correct product for the application.
Her attention to detail with vendor PO’s saves valuable lead time as well as our company money. Carrie is a true asset and will go out of her way to help you even if it means putting more on her work plate. Des Moines is a better place with dedicated people like Carrie.

How long have you worked for OneMonroe? 20+ years
What do you like about working for OneMonroe? I like the different day to day. Nothing is ever the same as customer needs are different everyday.
What is one thing you love about your job? My Customers. Over the years I have built rapport with them. Some as long as I have been here.
If you could add one thing to your office, what would it be? Goats. Although I don’t think much work would get done. They are the class clown of the animal kingdom .
Before Monroe, what was the most unusual or interesting job you have ever had? I have had 4 jobs since I was 11. That one was the most interesting. I sold leather goods and fashions at the state fair. Talk about meeting interesting people.
Three words to best describe you. Loyal, Friendly, And last Loud ( I can be pretty boisterous)
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hard one to choose. Since I have only been able to eat what I want in the last year.
If you were an animal, what would you be? Horse, They are loyal, friendly and powerful but with a grace that can’t be matched.
Do you have a hidden talent? What is it? I love to craft anything.
What is one totally irrational fear that you have? heights
Best vacation you have been on? Bahamas
Least favorite food? Escargot ( Tried it once)
Do you have a motto or personal mantra? Not really I tell my Grand kids to just be you.
What are your three most overused words/phrases? I can’t say those here
What is an ability you wish you had? To go to heaven just to visit the ones that have passed way to early.
What is one thing on your bucket list I don’t really have one. I do what I want when I want.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Crochet and spend time with my Husband and Grand children and family in general.
Would you rather be a tiny elephant or a giant hamster? Tiny Elephant (because why not)
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Get with a financial advisor
